The Times is a nine-piece strong, funk reggae movement. We play for the times we live in and the people in it. We're here to put love in your heart and rhythm in your feet; offer your food for your mind and liquor for your soul.
Created by front-man Christopher T. Sheard; a musician and songwriter whose many paths through life have delivered to him a unique musical perspective, the band began it's journey the day after Halloween in 2009 with a show at Trash bar in Brooklyn, NY. Since then we've crafted a unique sound and memorable live show with a blend of roots reggae, ska, and funk. The Times draws on influences from Barrington Levy and James Brown to Sublime and Biggie Smalls. The songs speak about life, from working jobs you hate to being with someone you love. We hope you relate, enjoy, and we thank you for sharing this musical journey with us.
